Music Monday: Before “Muppet or Man”

Congrats to Muppet or Man on bringing home the Oscar for Best Original Song during last night’s Academy Awards! Not a bad number, but I still prefer songs from the Muppets’ earlier catalog like Rainbow Connection (which was nominated for an Oscar in 1979 but did not win), Bein Green, and Muppets’ cover of Bohemian Rhapsody. So, apparently, does Target.

If you’re like me, you enter Target to pick up laundry detergent and toilet paper. Eighty eight dollars later, however, you’re driving home with a Michael Graves rotating spice rack and a designer-of-the-month scarf you just couldn’t refuse.

Target’s endcap temptation this week capitalizes on the magic of all things Muppet with this fuzzy little guy who plays a ditty near and dear to the hearts of Muppet fans. And, at only $8.99, it’s a hard sell not to pick one up, that is if you don’t get distracted by those plush Thomas O’Brien towels first.

We're allergic to gluten and spend our time filling out social network profiles. Man, is that a pain in the ass. Follow me on Twitter @freeneurotica.

Am so relieved to know I am not the only one who cannot leave Target without purchasing much more than intended. I no longer allow myself a cart. It isn’t safe. Love. That. Store. 🙂

You mean, there’s a pre-Man or Muppet era?

Put in your two-cents!
